Bacterial Adhesion Programme

The bacterial adhesion programme is formed by two research groups. The research profile of Prof. Timo Korhonen´s group is on evolution and structure-function relationships in bacterial surface proteases and adhesins in infectious diseases and commensalism. Doc. Benita Westerlund-Wikström´s group focuses on design and application of novel bacterial surface display techniques as well as functional genomics in bacterial pathogenesis. The common research topics of the two groups are molecular pathogenesis and disease prevention.
