Juha Merilä's Research Group

Grants

The network supports researchers exchange visits by providing each year a small number grants to visit participating laboratories. Three different types of support are available:

For PhD students (5 – 10 per year):

Travel grants for visits of up to one month of duration. Actual costs of accommodation (up to certain point) and travels are covered.

For post-docs (2 – 5 per year):

Travel grants for visits of up to one month of duration. Actual costs of accommodation (up to certain point) and travels are covered.

For senior researchers (3 - 5 per year):

Senior researchers can apply travel grants of up to one-week duration to visit participating laboratories. Actual costs of accommodation (up to certain point) and travels are covered.

Although the grants are meant primarily for members of the participating laboratories, it is also possible for Nordic residents from laboratories outside of the network to visit participating laboratories. All travels are to be made with APEX-fare class tickets. All funding decisions are made by the Steering Committee.

Application procedures

Submit a max two-page application (indicate the purpose and rationale of the planned visit, its duration, budget plan and applied sum) together with your CV to the coordinator at least a month before the planned visit. The travel and accommodation cost will be reimbursed in retrospect against original receipts. Grants cannot be applied retroactively.

Applications are to be sent by e-mail or by ordinary mail to the coordinator:
