Projects

1) Testing the "Boomerang hypothesis"

Since the 1990's, Finland has become one of the main importers of Russian wood. According to the "boomerang hypothesis" this increasing logging activity in northwest Russia will eventually harm the conservation efforts in Finland. Our three year effort to further investigate the hypothesis was launched in January 2006.

For more information, see the Boomerang Homepage

Sponsor: Academy of Finland

2) Transferring ecological impacts across national borders

A Nordic-Russian co-operation network to study transferred ecological impact within the region.

Sponsor: Nordic forest research co-operation committee (SNS)

3) IFEE

Indicator Framework for Eco-Efficiency (IFEE) is a part of the interdisciplinary 'Sustainable production and products' ( KETJU ) -program.
