Welcome to BioPop - Resource Center for Biology Teaching
Welcome to the BioPop webpages in English. These pages give you a brief introduction to the aims and activities of the BioPop centre. BioPop aims to promote biology teaching and encourage the study of biology at all grade levels. It works in co-operation with interested partners at the University of Helsinki, in schools and in other organisations. BioPop is a part of the LUMA centre and is co-ordinated by the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences, University of Helsinki. BioPop was established Apr 3, 2007. BioPop serves as a link between biology teachers and pupils in schools and the personnel and student teachers working at the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences. We enthusiastically welcome ideas for developing this interaction further! On the BioPop webpages you can find ideas and links that support the teaching of biology and get information about upcoming events (mainly on the webpages in Finnish). One important activity of BioPop is to provide courses and workshops for biology and class teachers. In addition, we aim to organise science clubs for children and will establish a small library for biology teaching mater
