In the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences the postgraduate degrees (Licentiate of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy) may be completed in all the major subjects of the faculty:

  • Biochemistry

  • Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
  • Environmental Change and Policy (Environmental Sciences for those who started their studies before 1.8.2011)
  • Environmental Ecology
  • General Microbiology

  • Physiology and Neuroscience (Physiology for those who started their studies before 1.8.2011)
  • Plant Biology

The core part of a postgraduate degree consists of the student’s own research work, conducted under an experienced researcher’s supervision usually in a research group.
