Novell network - home directory
Every Novell network user has a personal home index. When logging into the Novell network the home index can be used the same way as the drives on a computer. The home index is displayed on the computer as an R: drive. You find it when browsing the Look in /Save in catalogue while opening or saving a document. The home index name begins with your user name first.
The default disk quota for a normal user account is 200 MB for the unix systems and 400 MB for the Novell network. Larger requests must be submitted to the departmental IT contact person and must include a well grounded explanation why a larger amount of disk quota is needed. You can check your disk space by Account information -tool. Backup copies and returns Backup copies of the home indexes are made several times a week on magnetic tape in order to safeguard the system in case of malfunctions.
