Data protection at the University
Information protection and information securityThe legal basis for information protection and information security is the Personal Data Act, which is a general act concerning personal data. For this reason, evaluating and defining the level of information security concerning personal data must be based on the Personal Data Act. This also forms the basis for University information security operations. The concept of information protection has not been defined in exact terms. The concepts of information protection and information security are closely related and partly overlapping. Therefore, it is very important that information security issues are also represented in the University information protection group. Information security is necessary for developing high-level information protection. From the point of view of information protection, great efforts are currently being made in the field of information security. This should also continue in the future. There are good examples of this on the University’s information protection web pages. In the near future, increasing efforts will be made to control the risks involved in information systems. The Information Security Manager recently gave an interim report on the matter. It is well known that a risk management plan concerning the information systems of the entire University is a vast and laborious mission. In terms of information protection it is necessary for this work to continue. Further informationAlma: Information security » Data protection at the University 29.06.2010 |
