Information security campaign reminds of the dangers of the Internet

Phishing and hacking attempts occur at the University every day.

On 16 April 2012, the IT Center launches an information security campaign to remind the university community of the dangers of the Internet. Every year many University community members become victims of hacking or identity theft, something which could have been prevented by careful and prudent Internet use.

The campaign has two themes: The first, Are you being phished?, reminds users that suspicious queries about user information are always criminal in nature, and that replying to them may lead to the loss of valuable information; the second, Too good to be true, spreads information about various email scams.

The campaign will continue throughout the spring, but data security issues should be borne in mind every day.
