Practical Information

Registration

The speakers and authors of poster presentations will be registered as the participants of the Symposium - any extra formalities are not needed.

Participants who wish to take part in the Symposium as co-authors of presentations or listeners should register by August 31st 2009. The registration can be done by an e-mail message to the secretary of the Organizing Committee Mervi Suhonen, We only need the basic information:

  1. your name
  2. name of your institution
  3. contact address
  4. information concerning the payments (Full payment / student; Excursion: yes / no; Conference dinner: yes / no)

The Symposium fee and other costs

The Symposium fee is 50 €. It covers the costs of the scientific program, the pre-printed abstracts and the social program on Thursday evening.

Students are warmly welcome to take part in the work of the Symposium as listeners. The fee for students is 25 €.

The cost of the Conference dinner is 35 € / person.

The fee for participation in the excursion is 30 € / person.

The participants should take responsibility for their own costs for travel, accommodation, and meals.

Payment of fees

The payments are to be directed to the Department of Cultural Studies / Archaeology, University of Helsinki. Instructions for payments will be sent to the participants in a circulation letter.

The dead-line for payments is September 30th 2009. After this date refunds will be made under special conditions only.

Travel, accommodation, etc.

Participants are free to choose their own way of travel to Helsinki and accommodation. Reasonable prices for rooms are offered by several guest houses and hotels in Helsinki:
