Studying in the Aleksanteri Institute

springseminar

Through its multidisciplinary network, the Aleksanteri Institute offers a variety of ways to specialise in Russian and Eastern European Studies, at each stage of your academic career.

All undergraduate and Master’s students at the University of Helsinki can register for the courses organised by the East Central European, Balkan and Baltic Studies (ECEBB) and the Ukrainian studies programme. Students enrolled at a Finnish university can apply for the programmes via the Flexible Study Right Scheme (JOO). It is possible at a later stage to apply for the Master’s Programme in order to deepen your expertise in the field and receive guidance in preparing your thesis.

Once admitted to postgraduate studies at any Finnish university, you are welcome to apply for the Finnish Graduate School for Russian and East European Studies, coordinated by the Aleksanteri Institute. The Aleksanteri Alumni Association is a great way to keep in contact with your contemporaries after graduating.

For more information on the programmes and how to apply, please see the programme pages.
