East Central European, Balkan and Baltic Studies

Aleksanteri Institute coordinates East Central European, Balkan and Baltic Studies (ECEBB). You can specialize in ECEBB in Bachelor’s Programme in Cultural Studies and the Master’s Programme in Area and Cultural Studies. ECEBB can also be taken as two study modules, ECEBB I (30 ECTS) and ECEBB II (15 ECTS).

The aim of the ECEBB studies is to provide students with a comprehensive knowledge base in order to deepen their understanding of the recent history and current societies of the East Central European, Balkan and Baltic regions. ECEBB is suitable for all students who wish to specialise as area experts.

Regarding regional expertise and job placement, it is important for the students to develop their language skills in parallel with their knowledge of regions. For example studying Baltic Languages, West and South Slavonic Languages, Estonian or Hungarian support development of regional expertise.

Welcome to ECEBB Studies!
