Dr Jelena Obradovic, Visiting fellow, Aleksanteri Institute

  • Discussion

How has Serbia approached its cooperation with the Hague tribunal since the fall of Milosevic? What have been the key obstacles to effective cooperation? How has the arrest of Radovan Kradzic in July 2008 changed domestic attitudes towards the Tribunal? In this seminar, Dr Jelena Obradovic will consider some of the ways in which the democratic Serbian governments have attempted to deal with the war crimes question and the influence they have had on the wider 'culture of denial' and questions of 'facing the past'.
