Doctor Michael Kennedy is Professor of Sociology at the University of Michigan. His work addresses the relationship between intellectuality and social change. His past research has focused on the implication of professionals in social movements, intellectuals in the articulation of national identity and ideology, and transnational cultures of expertise in the explication and design of social transformations. His current research focuses on the identity, organization and strategies of the global university. Some of these ideas can be found in his recent contributions to the Journal of the International Institute.
