Integration of Immigrants in the Finnish Labour Market - Still Efforts to be Done

Employment is one of the main foundations for immigrants' successful integration. It is more difficult for immigrants to find a work than for the native population in Finland. There are, however, remarkable differences in the employment rate when looking by citizenship. Especially those who have refugee-background have highest unemployment rates. In aging societies, including Finland, complementing reproduction of the population and labour force by immigration has been considered as an important option.
