23 October 2015
The 15th Aleksanteri Conference gathered more than 400 participants from all over the world and 64 panels in total were held during the three days. Thank you for all of you for participating in the conference! Next Aleksanteri Conference is to be held with the theme of "Life and Death in Russia" at 26-28 October 2016.

The registration for panelists, chairs and discussants is now open. The registration closes on 30 September. In case visa invitations are needed, please contact the Conference Secretary.

All accepted papers and panels have been acknowledged. Information on the updated programme and panels will be posted on this site by 9 September.

Unfortunately Professor Michael Gorham has had to cancel his participation as keynote speaker.

We've received over 30 panel proposals and 140 proposals for individual papers, with themes ranging from internet memes to foreign policy narratives. We'd like to thank everyone for interesting proposals! Notes of acceptance will be sent by June 15th.

We are looking for a conference intern for the period 10.8.-9.11.2015. Please see more at the Aleksanteri Institute open vacancies site in Finnish. The deadline for the applications is May 6th.

Preliminary conference programme was published in early April. We are happy to introduce our keynote speakers: Professors Catriona Kelly, Vera Tolz, Michael Gorham, Elena Vartanova, Evert van der Zweerde, and Vlad Strukov. Also of special interest will be the Pre-conference Roundtable on Wednesday 21st with Kalle Kniivilä, Artemi Troitski, Roman Sentshin and Irina Prokhorova. Take a look at the preliminary programme and don't forget to submit your proposal by May 17th!
