Relevance of the Cold War for Russian jurisprudence: Private law

Present-day Russian law makers, scholars and practitioners in the legal field are searching for models for modern legislation and its interpretation not only in Western countries but, even more often, in prior Russian legislation and legal doctrine; and this is not limited to the period of the Russian Empire—prior to the 1917 October Revolution—but also from the Soviet period.
