Aleksandria - Current News

No night use in Aleksandria between 30 December and 2 January

Learning center Aleksandria will be closed from 30 December 4 p.m. to 2 January 8 a.m. This means that the night use of Aleksandria is not possible during that time.

There are also other limitations to the opening hours of IT customer service points during Christmas time. The full list of exceptions can be found at

Aleksandria’s help desks closed on Saturdays

Aleksandria’s help desks are closed on Saturdays starting October.

Aleksandria’s IT and user account desk does not serve on Saturdays any more. The opening hours during weekdays remain the same.

Construction noise causes occasional disturbances in Aleksandria

The noise from the building work of Kaisa-talo occasionally disturbs working in
Aleksandria during September and October. The work also causes power cuts.

A passageway  between Aleksandria and Kaisa-talo is being built in the K floor and the
first floor.

The work causes noise nuisance in Aleksandria during September and October. This may
disturb working in the open working areas as well as classrooms and group work rooms.
However, the noisiest work phases last only a short while.

The building work may also cause power shortages.

The reservations for the group work rooms 131 and 132 have been moved to other rooms.. 


Night use in the upmost floors at Aleksandria ends

The 3rd and 4th floors at Aleksandria will no longer be in night use from April 4, 2011 onwards. The basement as well as the 1st and the 2nd floor will, however, stay in night use. For night use you need a magnetic keycard.

All users must leave the upmost floors 15 minutes before the closing time. On weekdays, the two upmost floors will be opened for night key holders one hour before the opening time, i.e. at 7 am.

The local IT support will arrange working places for the user of the graphical software and scanners to the 2nd floor of Aleksandria.
