The City Centre Campus Library construction work will cause changes
The new City Centre Campus Library will be under construction next
to Aleksandria, 2010–2012. The construction work will affect several changes
in Aleksandria.
Noise
The construction noise will at times significantly affect
working in the Learning Centre. Working hours will be weekdays 8 am to 8
pm and saturdays 10 am to 6 pm .
How to get in
Entrance
- Main entrance: The main entrance will be
the outside door leading to the Aleksandria stairwell and lift (entrance
passageway from Fabianinkatu, into the courtyard, first door on the right,
now used as a night-use entry).
- Accessible entrance: The disability access entry from Fabianinkatu will not
change.
- The present Aleksandria entrance hall is closed.
How to get to Aleksandria
- Access from Fabianinkatu: Access to the inner courtyard will not change.
- Access from the Porthania and Vuorikatu 3 internal passageway: This access will be by stepping outside, walking
through the Aleksandria courtyard.
- Access from Kaisaniemenkatu and Vuorikatu:
- Via the Vuorikatu 3 and Vuorikatu 5 hallways and passageway, through
the block to Fabianinkatu. This connection is open on working days from 6:45
a.m. to 7:45 p.m.
- From the Vuorikatu 3 courtyard to the connecting Porthania internal
passageway, then through the Aleksandria courtyard to the new main entrance.
- Access to Fabianinkatu by walking around the block on the north side near the Metsätalo building.
- Access to Fabianinkatu by walking around the block on the south side near the Porthania building
- The pedestrian traffic on the streets Fabianinkatu, Kaisaniemenkatu and Vuorikatu) passing the construction site is for the most part redirected to the pavement on opposite side of the street.

Porters
- The porters' desk is located on the 1st floor of Aleksandria,
near the windows.
IT Support and User Accounts
- IT Helpdesk, User Account Administration office and Laptop Helpdesk: 2nd floor, room 233.
