Applicant's checklist

Next application period opens on December 2, 2013 and closes on January 31, 2014 at 16:00/4 p.m. (GMT +2).

Before the application period begins

• Create a FuniMa account (from early November 2013 onwards). Note, however, that the actual application form cannot be accessed before December 2, 2013.
• Make sure you satisfy the language requirements! Sign up for a language test as soon as possible.
• If you are applying for the Economics programme, remember that you have to take a GRE test.

When the application period begins

• Log into your FuniMa account and fill in an application form. Note that once you have finalized the form, you cannot make any changes to it.
  
• The front page of your application form gives your personal checklist of the required application enclosures.
  
• Send the application form and the required documents to University Admissions Finland (UAF).
  
• Keep in mind that your application can be processed by the faculty's student selection board only if it meets the minimum requirements. Be aware that legalizing the obligatory application documents is essential and pay attention also to the country-specific requirements.

When the application period closes

• The application documents have to be at UAF by the end of the application period. Email attachments will not be opened or accepted.
• UAF will send you an email notification when the process is completed or in the case it is put on hold and you need to supplement your application.
• After processing has been completed, UAF will forward applications to the University of Helsinki.
• UAF does not take part in the student selection process and cannot therefore give any information on the selection results.
• Neither UAF nor the University of Helsinki will process late applications.

Admissions results

• Applications that do not meet the minimum requirements are automatically rejected. The Admissions Services at the University of Helsinki will contact these applicants by email in March.
• If your application meets the minimum requirements it will be sent to the appropriate faculty and programme for academic evaluation. The faculties publish the admissions results during the period from early April to late May.
