Central Administration
Central Administration of the University of Helsinki comprises the Rector’s Office and University Services. Their joint task is to establish the best possible circumstances for the performance of the University’s core duties. Central Administration is divided into the following sectors:
- Human Resources and Legal Affairs (in Finnish)
- Academic Affairs
- Strategic Planning and Quality Assurance
- Financial Affairs (in Finnish)
- Research Affairs
- Communications and Community Relations
- Administrative Affairs
Central Administration also includes the University Museum.
The Rector’s Office and University Services cooperate with faculties, departments and independent institutes as well as develop various forms of cooperation and joint procedures.
Rector’s Office
The Rector’s Office supervises the administrative sectors and their strategic activities. It supports the rector in the efficient, economic and effective completion of the University’s duties, and the vice-rectors in the preparation and completion of matters related to their duties. The Rector’s Office is also responsible for preparing the Board’s and the Rector’s decisions as well as for implementing them. The Rector’s Office comprises the following units:

- Communications and Community Relations
- Administrative Affairs
In addition, separate units under the director of development include International Affairs, Swedish-Language Affairs and Evaluation Affairs.
University Services
University Services provides teaching and research staff as well as students with favourable conditions by offering diverse services in a professional and customer-oriented manner. Such services are offered at campus service centres, on a centralised basis or through a network of services. University Services comprises the following units:

- Research Funding Services
- Industrial Relations and Knowledge Transfer Services
- University Museum
