Policy

  • WebEc lists and describes material that could be of interest to mainly academic economists and is at least in part freely available on the Internet.
  • Advertisement is not allowed on the servers where WebEc is located.
  • WebEc does not list firms, if they don't offer something of special interest to economists. For example, WebEc does not list companies selling cigarettes, but if you have data about the cigarette sales, send a note to WebEc. The commercial indices are found elsewhere.
  • The use of WebEc is free of charge ... but the copyright of WebEc remains with the maker even though ... he is not responsible about the possible damages you or anybody else will suffer because of using the Internet, including WebEc. WebEc and the rest of the author's personal pages are provided as is without any express or implied warranty. WebEc is a volunteer personal hobby of the author who provides this service solely as a convenience to other Web users and himself looking for economics resources and information. These pages have no official relationship to and do not represent the employers of the author.
  • The more you let me know about services that should be included in WebEc or that are outdated, misplaced or contain any kind of errors, the better WebEc will be for you and other users. Many people have already been supporting WebEc in various ways.

Navigating

It might be just best to click around and see what way of using WebEc is the best for you, but you can read on if you wish (it takes more time to read than to learn-by-clicking; I already wasted my time in writing this!)
  • The WebEc categories are a modified version of the JEL categories
  • There are three main pages in WebEc nowadays:
    1. Framed page that contains a main page #1 and an access to the main categories.
    2. Index page without frames that contains all the categories found in WebEc. This is supposed to be used without frames. On the page is a shortcut menu that includes all the main categories found in WebEc. The text in the menu points to the corresponding sub-page: one and the last step deeper in the hierarchy. The main page continues with the deeper level categories; longer and more detailed index. On the non-framed main page's short cut menu the image/mark \/ points to the long index's entries on the same page.
  • Every framed category has an internal two columns menu, on the left, where the links point to the main categories and current category's headings.
  • Choosing the PREVIOUS PAGE and NEXT PAGE starting from any contents page will take you through WebEc's categories.
  • From the top of each contents page you can get to the (WebEc) about.
  • On contents pages the submenu 's before a heading will take you to the top of the page. (Ctrl-Home does the trick in many Windows browsers.)
  • The search engines will show you another view of WebEc's contents.

  • NOTE: I check the links during every revision, but I do not include any new links. There has been over 1400 URLs in WebEc and some of them might be from 1993. I believe WebEc will exist until there are no working links or no users.

Looks

  • WebEc should look OK with most of the web browsers? I try to present everything so that the same information is available to everybody, regardless of the browser they use. Send mail if you have any problems in using WebEc.
